We keep track of your fuel use based on your past history and the weather, and we make deliveries accordingly to avoid any risk of a run-out.  You won't use any more fuel than you normally would. •  BioFuel

Every gallon of heating oil we deliver contains a small percentage of biofuel. Biofuel is heating fuel derived from plant matter such as soybeans. Since it’s not a fossil fuel, it doesn’t emit carbon into the atmosphere. And because biofuel is made here in the United States, it reduces our dependence on foreign oil.

Biofuel, in small percentages, requires no modification of your current heating equipment and, as a bonus; it also helps keep your system clean. As a result, you gain fuel efficiency, and benefit from longer equipment life.

• SmartPay Plus

SmartPay Plus offers two great ways to manage fuel costs:  level monthly payments mean no big fuel bills in winter, and a price cap means an absolute limit on how high your fuel price can rise.

First, we estimate your total fuel bill for the year based on your past fuel use, and then divide it into 12 monthly payments. That way, you won’t get hit with four or five giant bills in winter. Even if you get two deliveries in one month, you'll still get one low monthly bill. You will not use more fuel and you only pay for the fuel you actually receive, at the price on the day of the delivery.

Best of all, you don’t pay any more for this. In fact, you actually save money, because we give SmartPay Plus customers a discount of 5¢ per gallon, which saves our typical SmartPay Plus customer $50 a year.

With SmartPay Plus, the cost of your fuel won’t rise above a ceiling or “cap” price, regardless of what happens in the oil markets. And because SmartPay Plus also includes downside protection, any time our daily posted price is below your cap price, you’ll pay the lower price, guaranteed. Because our  suppliers charge us a fee for providing this kind of price “insurance”, we must charge you a fee for your price cap. We make no money from this fee; the amount we charge you is our cost.

Unlike some fuel companies, CMP does price protection the right way. We actually provide the protection we promise you, and we always tell you the fee upfront. Some companies advertise a "no fee" cap. But there is no such thing, because a cap is a kind of insurance that costs money. If they say there is "no fee", they are either building the fee into their fuel price, or they did not buy enough insurance, which means you are not protected if prices rise or fall. With our SmartPay budget program, we estimate your yearly fuel consumption based on past purchases, and we divide this number by 12 to arrive at your monthly payment.You won't be protected if prices rise, but there's no fee to enroll, and you'll still qualify for our 5¢ per gallon discount.
