Who is Christoff Mitchell?

Christoff Mitchell Petroleum (CMP) is one of the largest independently owned, family-run fuel companies in Central PA. We deliver fuel oil and/or propane to approximately 8,000 residential and commercial customers in Clearfield, Centre and Cambria counties. In addition, we offer 24-hour, 7-day emergency service, and expert installation of heating and air conditioning systems, and indoor air quality products. We've expanded our Cambria coverage through our fuel-only division, Shaner Hoover.

A history of excellent service

Our company was formed by the merger in 2002 of two established family-owned fuel companies: Christoff Oil Company, which was founded in 1954 by Russell Christoff, and Mitchell Oil Company, which was started by Robert R. Mitchell in 1955. As other fuel companies have either closed their doors or have been acquired by large multi-state fuel distributors, Christoff Mitchell Petroleum (CMP) has endured and prospered for more than 55 years. We credit our longevity to providing excellent customer service, taking care of our employees and supporting the communities where we live and do business.

Heating Oil, Propane, and more

We deliver fuel oil and gasoline to commercial customers as well. We own 14 Pacific Pride commercial fueling locations with 24-hour card lock access to top-quality fuel and lubricants. Our Service Technicians are trained in the  latest technologies from our suppliers. Our drivers are professionals trained to load, transport, and deliver your heating oil or propane safely and efficiently and they have certificates to prove it. Our delivery trucks are equipped with  the Mid-Com electronically controlled delivery meters, to ensure accurate delivery.  Our trucks and service vans are radio dispatched for fast service to  your heating emergency. With our partner company Shaner Hoover, CMP has six fuel storage facilities, including four heating oil bulk plants with a capacity of over 500,000 gallons. Our two propane storage facilities have a capacity of 80,000 gallons.

We are very proud of our employees, who give their time to charitable and community causes. This includes CMP Co-President Jeff Mitchell, who is a past president of the Moshannon Valley Economic Development Corporation, and Co-President Rusty Christoff, who has served on the board of Clearfield Hospital and is currently the president of the Pennsylvania Petroleum Association. 
Committed to help

We're more than just a residential heating oil and propane gas supplier. Since 2009 we've been raising money for the Susan G. Koman for the Cure organization, which is dedicated to finding a cure for breast cancer. Local residents may be familiar with our “Pink Lady,” the pink, propane delivery truck we use to promote this cause.

We also support the Moshannon Valley Black Knight Booster Club, Philipsburg-Osceola Little League, Houtzdale Little League and other local activities.
